Occupational Therapy (OT) helps people overcome physical, mental, or cognitive challenges that affect their ability to do everyday tasks. The goal is to improve independence, safety, and quality of life.
Services are designed for adults who are experiencing:
- Injury or illness
- Disability or developmental delay
- Age-related changes
Supporting clients with a wide range of needs to live more independently and confidently.
No referral is needed for private paying clients. However, if you’re using NDIS, Medicare, health care package, MyAged Care or insurance (e.g. Workers Compensation), a referral may be required.
No, I am not a registered NDIS provider and therefore support only plan-managed and self-managed participants, not NDIA managed.
An OT Driving Assessment entails the following:
- OT to complete a license check prior to the assessment
1. Off-Road Assessment (Clinical):
Conducted in your home setting, this part evaluates:
Medical history and driving history
Vision, cognition, memory, attention, reaction time
Strength, range of motion, and coordination
Knowledge of road rules and hazard perception
2. On-Road Assessment:
Conducted with a qualified driving instructor in a dual-controlled vehicle. The OT observes your:
Driving behaviour
Ability to follow road rules
Decision-making and safety awareness
Use of vehicle controls
- OT will communicate the results of the driving assessment to the licensing department.
We assess and recommend a wide range of assistive equipment, including but not limited to:
Mobility aids: wheelchairs, walkers, scooters
Seating and positioning: specialised chairs, pressure cushions
Transfer aids: hoists, slide sheets, transfer boards
Daily living aids: shower chairs, over-toilet frames, long-handled tools
Bedroom aids: adjustable beds, bed rails
Grab rails and handrails
Ramps and threshold wedges
Step-wedges or stair lifts
Widened doorways
Accessible bathrooms (e.g. step-free showers, raised toilets)
Kitchen and laundry adjustments
Slip-resistant flooring
Smart technology for safer living (e.g. automated lighting)
